New Delhi: Mr Tushar Singhal, Mr Shaleen Baweja and Mr Shreyans Bengani students of NMIMS, Mumbai, visited FTF-I in the month of February 2015. During their internships period they visited Eco Tasar, Usha Exim & MESH. Three interns from NMIMS were also got the opportunity to involve themselves in the Eco Tasar Pvt Ltd through a project by PRADAN, an NGO of National stature in India.
Mr. Tushar helped in creating a blog for Fair Trade Forum – India which is live for the audience. The blog has been created on the wordpress platform. Tushar also helped in changing the format for the monthly Newsletter, now news and updates regarding FTF-I will go to the members through MailChimp which enables the user to create newsletter campaigns or other marketing campaigns through some preset and customizable layouts.
The project included conducting a time-work study for the manufacturing process of cushion covers and providing the details for costing of 100 pieces.
Mr Shaleen Baweja, NMIMS, Mumbai conducted a survey for gaining feedback from member organizations, preparing partnership proposals for holding ‘handicraft melas’ where the member organizations would put up stalls and sell their handicraft. He also helped in creating a proposal for Ministry of Textiles during his internship at FTF-I.
Mr Shreyans Bengani, NMIMS, Mumbai, during his internship period helped in supporting and assisting Fair Trade Forum – India and MESH, member organizations in promoting marginalized artisans and obtaining financial sustainability. As per the feedback received from the interns it was a good learning platform and they got good knowledge about Fair Trade by visiting member organizations.
