New Delhi: A workshop on “Empowerment of Women Enterprises in International Business” was organised by Federation of the Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) at Niryat Bhawan, New Delhi on April 22, 2015.
Mr O P Yadav, Ms Amy Mookerji and Ms Sadhna participated in the workshop and represented Fair Trade Forum India.
FTFI member organisations Jan Kala Sahitya Manch(JKSMS), Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India Ltd (FTCI), Mahila Umang Samiti, Unnayan Sansthan actively participated in the workshop. It was a good learning platform for the participants.
The initiative was taken to familiarise women entrepreneurs on how to enter export business and its procedure. Mr S.C Rahlan, President, FIEO welcomed the women entrepreneurs and added that an environment should be created where they can take independent decisions. Women are great entrepreneurs and add a good value to the economy and can play a significant role in achieving the exports targets as well.
Mr Sanchit Khanna, Regional Manager (Retail Exports) from eBay India Pvt Ltd gave a detailed presentation on e-commerce.
Ms Priyanka Mittal, Managing Committee Member, FIEO in her concluding remarks encouraged the women entrepreneurs to dream big and diversify from handicrafts and jewellery to other sector as well. The workshop was followed by an interactive question-answer session.
