Fair Trade Forum India organized training cum Workshop under the title ‘Fair Trade Membership & Entry Audit Workshop for Empanelment of Entry Auditors’ at Vande Matram Kunj, Haridwar, Uttrakhand. It was a three day workshop from 28th to 30th June 2015. The training workshop was attended by twenty one participants from across India.
FTF-I saw that the present pool of Entry Auditors is not sufficient, area wise to cater to the increasing demand of applicants who want to join the Fair Trade movement. Keeping the point in mind Fair Trade Forum India organized this workshop .to create a team of entry auditors accredited by the forum.
Fair Trade Guarantee System has become mandatory for all WFTO members so it has become important to have trained entry auditors for membership audit. This process facilitates graduation of membership from National Forum to Global Forum.
Mr. Ram Bhat, a Trainer and Auditor in Fair Trade was the trainer had consented to be the trainer and facilitator of the workshop along with Mr. Pankaj Mehndiratta as the co- trainer. The workshop was a combination of technical sessions, presentations, case studies and role plays. .
The first technical session began by explaining the Fair Trade concept and strengthening the movement in India to provide the basic understanding about Fair Trade concepts and Ten Principles among the participants. Dr. Panchakshram, board member of FTFI, shared his experience of Fair Trade Movement in India.
During Role Plays, healthy discussions took place on all aspects of the Entry Audit, the Auditor’s role, behavior and conduct. The final session was on the nitty-gritty of how the audits were allocated, the financial part of the audits – allowances, boarding & lodging expenses, travel cost, etc, were discussed.
Overall it was a successful workshop. The selected participants will be accredited as ‘Entry Auditors’ for membership with Fair Trade Forum – India.
