On the completion of 20 years of establishment IRFT celebrated Parivartan Craft Mela at Goregaon Sports Club, Malad on 31st October, 2015 in Mumbai. IRFT extended a warm welcoming invitation to all stakeholders and various organizations/NGO’s to come and be a part of this mega event. Parivartan Craft Mela, was organized as a pre Diwali sale to support the arts & crafts of the rich heritage. IRFT and other NGO’s displayed a wide range of collection from tribal jewellery, embroidered bags, kurtas, designers sarees and health products and much more with a purpose to support the artisans.
Mr. MJF Lion Udaykumar Vinzanekar, President, Punarvas Education Society formally inaugurated the Exhibition Pavilions and addressed the gathering during the inaugural function. Ms Reshma Nayampally, Chairperson and Ms Neena Rane, Hon. Secretary from Dilkhush Welfare Society, Mr. O.P. K. Joshua, Committee Member of Goregaon Sports Club and Ms. Gaynor Pais-CEO, IRFT graced the event with their presence at the inaugural function. NGO’s and different organizations participated in the Mela and made it a grand successful event.
IRFT happily shared the information about the presence of Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao, who graced the event and interacted with the artisans and other staff. Ms Gaynor mentioned a special thanks to the volunteers from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) for being the part of this memorable event and for their great help in organizing the mega event. It was a good experience for the students also to be a part of this event and without their presence the event would not have been so successful, added Ms Gaynor Pais.
The major attractions in the Mela were Free Arabic mehendi, massage and acupressure by The Blind, Mouth & Foot Painting Artist.
The Parivartan Crafts Mela was a grand success and IRFT especially thanked the sponsors: First Rank Bank and associate sponsors: Tata Capital and Union Bank of India for their support.
