Members of FTF-I participated at the Dastkari Crafts Bazaar held at Dilli Haat, INA, Delhi from 01st to 15th January, 2016. Sadhna Handicrafts and Purkal Stree Shakti Samiti, Aagor Daagra Afad showcased their beautiful traditional handmade work designed by their women artists.
It was the 30th edition of the annual festival, supported by Ministry of External Affair and the Embassy of India in Myanmar, collaborated hands to exhibit traditional crafts like shell crafts, basketry, mat weaving, handloom textile weaving, jewellery form the neighbouring country.
The Craft Bazaar was inaugurated by Lalitha Kumarmangalam-Chairperson National Council for Women, Meenakshi Lekhi-Member of Parliament, New Delhi, His Excellency-U Aung Khin Soe-Myanmar, Ambassador to India and many other dignitaries from craft world. The main highlight of the program was the Craft Women from Myanmar. Starting a long term friendship, artists of Sadhna from Udaipur, Rajasthan, Purkal Stree Shakti from Purkal, Uttrakahnad, Aagor from Assam shared a common platform with the art across India and Myanmar and saw the similarities between their works with Myanmar artists.
