Bethany Colony Leprosy Association Baptla celebrated 70th Independence Day at Helga Thullis Elementary School, Bethany Colony on 15th August, 2016. The chief guest for the program was Sri. VegesenaNarendravermarajugaru, Director of Vegesena Foundation. The program started with the dance performances and welcome songs by the school children. Patriotic skit was performed by the children through a wonderful dance.
Sri Narendravermarajugaru the Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag. All the participants saluted the Tri-colored National Flag and said Jai Hind, followed by the Vandematharam Song. Sri Narendravermarajuguru wished and blessed the children. He also greeted the Leprosy patients and met them personally and hugged some of the Leprosy disabled patients. He visited the crippled Leprosy patients in the ward and distributed Fruits. He also expressed his feelings, love, and affection and sympathy through his assurances of financial commitment of sharing expenditure towards the Leprosy Care Programme at Bethany Colony.
He promised that his Charity Foundation will think about these patients and they will be helping the Leprosy Health Care Programme not only for the current year but for the coming minimum of five years, even till the period as long as his financial position supports him. Sri Narendravermaraju was pleased to attend the program and said that this is the happiest and memorable event which he will never forget. He added that this is the most prestigious honor that was given by the BCLA management.
Mrs. Ribca the Headmistress of Elementary School gave her Vote of thanks speech to all the participants at the end of the program. It was attended by the team BCLA, Project coordinators and staff, school children and their teachers, rehab artisans and staff, clinic staff and youth from BCLA with a gathering of more than 200 people. BCLA team thanked Sri. V. Narendravermarajugaru, for accepting the invitation and for the visit to Bethany Colony Leprosy Association as the Chief Guest.
